Why Policy Development Is Important
Developing healthy public policies can help improve the physical, social, economic and environmental conditions in which people live, learn, work and play.
Governments, public sector organizations (such as public health and schools), and community organizations often have policies to guide daily operations, program and service delivery, and staff training.
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit can support organizations that are interested in developing and implementing healthy policies focused on ACEs awareness and trauma-informed care.

Sample Policy on Trauma-Informed Care Principles and ACEs Awareness Training for Staff
Organizations will find a ready-to-use sample policy from WECHU that can be used to adapt a trauma-informed care principles and ACEs awareness training policy. This policy is designed to guide and encourage staff to complete the training and support the consistent use of trauma-informed care principles.
