Eligibility
Influenza and COVID-19
Flu and COVID-19 vaccines are currently available to high-risk and priority populations.
Beginning October 26, 2026, anyone six months of age and older who lives, works, or attends school in Ontario can receive free flu and COVID-19 vaccines.
The vaccine product and number of doses recommended may depend on your age, health, and vaccine history. Speak with a health care provider about what is recommended for you.
For additional eligibility information, visit Ontario’s flu information page and COVID-19 Vaccine Program page.
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
Ontario’s publicly funded RSV prevention programs provide immunization for eligible older adults, infants, high-risk children, and pregnant individuals.
Older adults
Free RSV vaccination is available year-round for:
- Adults aged 75 years and older.
- Adults aged 60 to 74 years who meet specific high-risk criteria or live in certain higher-risk settings.
Infants and high-risk children
Beginning October 1, 2026, RSV immunization with Beyfortus® (nirsevimab) is available for eligible infants born on or after April 1, 2026, who are under eight months old at the time of vaccination, and certain high-risk children under 24 months old. Beyfortus® is a monoclonal antibody that provides protection against RSV; it is not a vaccine.
During pregnancy
People who are 28 to 36 weeks pregnant and expect to give birth near the start of or during RSV season can speak with their health care provider about receiving Abrysvo® to help protect their infant after birth.
Talk with your health care provider about eligibility and the most appropriate option for you or your child. Visit Ontario’s RSV information page for complete eligibility criteria.
Where to Get Immunized
Public Health Clinics
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) will offer seasonal immunization clinics for all residents beginning Monday, October 26, 2026, by appointment.
To book an appointment, visit the WECHU Vaccine Portal. For more information or assistance booking, call 519-258-2146 ext. 1121.
Available vaccines depend on age, eligibility, and product availability. Confirm the appropriate appointment type when booking.
Pharmacies
Participating pharmacies offer:
- Flu vaccines: for individuals aged two years and older.
- COVID-19 vaccines: for individuals aged six months and older. Availability for children under five varies by pharmacy, so call ahead.
Children under two cannot receive a flu vaccine at a pharmacy. Contact your primary health care provider or WECHU to arrange vaccination.
Use Ontario’s pharmacy vaccine locator to find a participating pharmacy.
Health Care Providers
Contact your physician, nurse practitioner, or other primary health care provider to ask which vaccines they offer and book an appointment. Call ahead to confirm eligibility and availability.
For RSV vaccination during pregnancy or for an infant, contact your prenatal or primary care provider. Eligible newborns may also receive Beyfortus® through participating hospitals after birth.
Language Services
Interpretation services are available at WECHU immunization clinics. For community language and interpretation supports, call 2-1-1.
About the Vaccines
Flu and COVID-19 vaccines can be received at the same appointment. Eligible individuals can also ask their health care provider about receiving RSV immunization and whether it can be given during the same visit.
Where to find proof of vaccination
In Ontario:
As of March 13, 2026, COVID-19 enhanced vaccine certificates are no longer available for printing or download from the Ontario COVID-19 vaccination portal. Residents can now access their COVID-19 immunization records through the Immunize Connect Ontario (ICON) online portal. Residents are encouraged to save or print a personal copy of their records.
