A Public Health Nurse (PHN) is assigned to each school in the Windsor-Essex area. School PHNs are located in each of the 3 WECHU offices. The role of the PHN is to promote healthy living behaviours for students of all ages. The topics we address are healthy eating, physical activity, substance misuse, injury prevention, healthy sexuality and relationships, and mental health. Our PHNs also develop teaching resources that support the Healthy Living strand in the Physical Education and Health curriculum. For information about who the nurse is in your school, please call our School Health Department at 519-258-2146 ext. 1555.

If you are an early learning professional in Windsor and Essex County and you want some ideas to promote health, please contact the Family Health Department at 519-258-2146 ext. 1350.
