Many of us have had a hard time dealing over the past few years with all of the changes related to the pandemic. Emotions may have built-up, and at times, student’s mental health has suffered. Schools can also be a stressful time for some students.

In-class Resources

Mental Wellness Calendar Activity

This fun activity can be used by all students (as well as staff and even families), to promote health and wellness. The calendar has 31 daily activities that support overall health and wellness. Educators can incorporate this into their daily lessons, or it can be used as an at-home activity.

Bullying Awareness Toolkit

This toolkit contains background information about bullying and cyberbullying; along with some suggested activities you can do in class with your students to raise awareness around bullying. Additionally, it contains social media posts your school can use, as well as a suggested position statement on bullying, which can be used as-is, or adapted as a class project.

School Mental Health Ontario - Provides information and resources including online courses and training opportunities specifically for educators.

Mental Health Resources in Windsor and Essex County  - A list of programs and services available in Windsor and Essex County to support student mental health.

Resources and support for students:

BeSafe app – This mobile app helps young adults make a decision about seeking mental health help in a crisis. The app can be downloaded through the App Store and Google Play, as well as a paper version accessible from the website.

Kids Help Phone – a FREE service available for children and young adults that offers counselling support from professionals via phone call, text, or online chat. The website also contains various resources for educators, parents, and youth (under the Get Info heading).
