What is Cannabis?

Cannabis is known by many names including marijuana, weed, pot, hash—and others. Cannabis refers to the greenish or brownish material that comes from the dried flowering tops/buds & leaves of the plants, Cannabis sativa or Cannabis indica.

Mental Health

Mental health is the capacity to feel, think and act in ways that enhance our ability to enjoy life, realize our own potential, deal with challenges, and contribute to society (Mental Health Commission of Canada).

Safe Needle Disposal

There are many reasons why people use needles, including for health conditions. Needles that are not disposed of properly can pose a safety risk to our community. Needlestick injuries and sharing needles and other drug equipment can put you at risk for getting an infection.

The purpose of the Windsor and Essex County Living Wage program is to raise awareness about the true cost of living in Windsor and Essex County, and to advance policies, partnerships, and practices that promote health and wellbeing for our community.

Executive Summary

Last year nearly 2 million people in Ontario filled opioid prescriptions, approximately 14% of the provincial population, or one out of every seven people (Health Quality Ontario, 2017).  More opioids in communities across Canada leads to increased risk of misuse, abuse and overdose.  This is a concern not only for patients who are prescribed opioids but also their family members, and those who obtain these substances illegally.

You're The Chef

The YTC is a six-week cooking program for students in grades 4 to 12. It’s a fun way for youth to gain valuable skills and learn how to cook nutritious meals and snacks for themselves and their families. YTC can run in schools, community agencies, or camps.
