Agency’s Statement of Need

Thank you for your interest in the Ontario Naloxone Program (ONP). The ONP provides eligible community-based organizations naloxone kits for distribution purposes to clients at risk of an opioid overdose, and their friends and families.

To become an active partner, an agency must meet the following ONP eligibility criteria, which includes the population you serve, organizational readiness, and staffing capacity.

Does your agency reach a difficult to reach (priority) population where there is known drug use (opioid activity)?
Does your agency work directly with populations at risk of an opioid overdose?
Does your agency have the staffing capacity to manage Naloxone distribution/training with clients, inventory and reporting data to the Health Unit?
Are your staff already trained to distribute Naloxone?
