For more than a century, the Windsor‑Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) has been dedicated to supporting the health and well‑being of everyone in Windsor-Essex County. The knowledgeable and committed staff continues to work toward the vision of healthy people in a healthy community, focusing on both health promotion and health protection initiatives.
Each year, the WECHU delivers programs and services that help residents live healthier lives. Guided by the Ontario Public Health Standards, WECHU staff provide support across key areas including disease prevention, healthy living, substance use prevention and harm reduction, oral health, and healthy growth and development.
