2023 ANNUAL REPORT
As one of the 34 public health units across Ontario, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) is responsible for delivering programs and resources to enhance the health of individuals living in the region.
Following the Ontario Public Health Standards, the WECHU supports healthy lifestyle topics such as disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, safer substance use, oral health, and healthy growth and development.
The WECHU has been supporting the health of Windsor-Essex County (WEC) residents for over 100 years. The staff at the WECHU are continuously working towards the vision of healthy people in a healthy community, through the provision of both health promotion and health protection initiatives.
We are proud to present the 2023 Annual Report which contains highlights of the impressive work carried out by the WECHU, but it’s important to note that it does not capture all the work completed by our staff.
