DATE: 2025-05-15

SUBJECT: Q1 Annual Service Plan Status Report

BACKGROUND/PURPOSE

The WECHU’s 2025 Annual Service Plan (ASP) illustrates how the Board of Health will operationalize the strategic directions and priorities of the health unit. The 2025 ASP report has been submitted to the Ministry of Health as directed in Requirement 1 of the Public Health Accountability Framework’s Common Domain of the Ontario Public Health Standards (OPHS) (2021).

DISCUSSION

For 2025, the WECHU will be facilitating 41 programs which are comprised of a total of 182 Intervention Work Plans (IWP). Table 1 depicts the breakdown between community focused (external) work and corporate operational activities (internal).

Reporting for Q1 2025 has been abbreviated due to extending the timeline of developing the ASP in response to agency reorganization and Ministry of Health revision of the Standards in the OPHS.

Each department that has an external community focus was asked to provide a brief activities status update that pertains to each approved program in their service area. Table 2 illustrates the result of this reporting.
