Vegetables and fruit are an important part of a healthy diet for toddlers and preschoolers. They provide vitamins, minerals, and fibre that are necessary for growth, development and overall health of the child.
Take Charge is helping WEC children to eat healthy during sporting events and day camp activities! Physical activity and healthy eating are keys to good health especially as children grow up and become adults. Unfortunately, salty and sugary snacks have become widely available in our community, and are often offered to children during sporting events and day camp activities.
Take Charge is a local program that encourages and supports Windsor-Essex County residents to eat healthy whether at work, at school, in daycares, or out in the community. The Take Charge program is helping our community to provide better access to nutrition education, and healthy food and beverage options.
