News Release: Extreme Cold Warning

Based on Environment Canada’s forecast, Dr. Wajid Ahmed, Windsor-Essex County Health Unit’s Medical Officer of Health has issued an Extreme Cold Warning. The wind chill values of -30°C to -35°C are expected tonight through to Friday morning. An Extreme Cold Warning is issued when temperatures are -27°C (-16.6°F) with or without the wind chill for one day.

Extreme Weather

Windsor-Essex County Health Unit issues extreme temperature warnings (heat warnings and cold warnings) to inform the residents, local agencies, stakeholders, and the media in Windsor and Essex County of the forecast of extreme weather events.
