All new temporary foreign workers arriving in Canada must undergo a mandatory self isolation for 14 days.
Please note that beginning on June 8, 2020, there will be a $75 fee for annual seasonal housing permit letters for long-term seasonal housing accommodations. The $75 fee is required for each permit letter issued by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) and will be payable at the time of application. Please note that the fee will NOT apply to inspections of temporary 14-day isolation accommodations related to COVID-19.
Please note: Growers are required to ensure bunkhouses and temporary living accommodations comply with all local building, fire and zoning requirements. Non-compliance may result in closures that may require you to relocate your workers. Please check with your local municipal fire, building and by-law agencies prior to contacting the health unit. The Health Unit will be notifying local municipalities of all temporary isolation bunkhouses.
