Media Exposure Overview Graph

Notes: From May 15 – June 14, we experienced four main peaks in media exposure.

May 21, 28, June 4, 11 – There were spikes in our media coverage on these days due to a weekly provincial news story which provided an update on measles, mentioning all public health units with cases.

Website Overview Graph

Website traffic overview - June 2025

Notes: Darker blue line is current timeframe. From May 15 – June 14, we saw very steady web traffic, but at a lower volume than the previous period. The peak in traffic on June 2 is related to the opening of public voting for the student video PSA challenge, Connected Not Controlled.

Social Media Overview Graph

June social media overview graph

Notes: Lighter blue line is current timeframe. From May 15 – June 14, we saw an increase in followers across all platforms with the exception of Twitter, where we continue to see a gradual decrease in followers.

Discussion – Tick Dragging Media Event

The Communications Department worked with the Environmental Health Department to host a media event flagging the start of tick surveillance project. Media were invited to attend the event to interview Elaine Bennett on the project, health implications of ticks, and preventative measures to protect yourself from Lyme disease. Three media outlets attended, which resulted in four unique stories, eight including echoes (reposts).

While on-site, the team filmed a short video to make into a Reel for social media, continuing the use of this function to reach our audience in a new way. The Reel produced the following metrics on Meta:

Reach:
Number of accounts that saw the ad at least once: 1,810

Views:
Number of times ad was played or displayed: 2,242

Reactions: 27
