The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit leases its main office at 1005 Ouellette Avenue, Windsor, Ontario and is in the process of determining whether its current facilities will meet its needs into the future. This formal assessment of the Health Unit’s future facility needs is known as the Project.
The Project Governance Committee (“PGC”) is the governing body that oversees the Project to directly ensure that it is strategically aligned with the Health Unit’s vision and appropriately resourced; and by way of its monitoring and oversight function to ensure that Project delivery proceeds on schedule, on budget and on quality.
The initial phase of the Project will be to consider future facility options – renovate the current facility, lease a new or existing facility or purchase a new or existing facility – through a detailed, meticulous due diligence process. Subsequent phases will concentrate on making the selected vision a reality.
The PGC is an ad hoc committee of the Board of Health, pursuant to its By-Laws, and is comprised of two representatives from the City of Windsor, two representatives from the County of Essex (including one who represents the Township of Pelee), and two Provincial Appointees.
