Public Appointments to the Board of Health

Members of the public who meet eligibility criteria can sit on Boards of Ontario Agencies to help in the decision making of public services.

To apply to become a public appointee, you must be:

• a resident of Ontario
• proficient in either English or French
• able to attend meetings in Ontario

Overview

Public appointees are members of the public that participate on the boards of provincial agencies and other public organizations. Their responsibilities include, but are not restricted to:

• overseeing and providing strategic direction to a provincial agency
• providing advice to ministers
• resolving disputes

The Public Appointments Secretariat oversees all Ontario government appointments to provincial agencies and other community boards and organizations.
