Nutrition Month is in March every year. This year, the Windsor Essex County Health Unit is hosting an online challenge titled “Building Healthy Habits with Canada’s Food Guide”. Take part in the challenge to learn more about the “new” Canada’s Food Guide, and how goal setting can help you improve your healthy eating habits!

About the Challenge

The “Building Healthy Habits with Canada’s Food Guide” Challenge introduces goal setting strategies to support individuals in their healthy eating journey and for other healthy living behaviours. In addition, you will be provided with tips and resources to support you in making informed nutrition choices using Canada’s Food Guide. This challenge is available to all Windsor and Essex County residents 18 years and older. What are you waiting for? Join the Challenge today!

Create a new account:

  1. You will be asked to create an account (username and a password) in order to log into the online Challenge.
  2. Once you have created an account, you will be directed to the Challenge Dashboard. From the dashboard you will be able to click on the “Building Healthy Habits with Canada’s Food Guide” Challenge to join. Don’t forget to hit the JOIN button.
  3. Once you have joined, you will be able to log in to the “Building Healthy Habits with Canada’s Food Guide” Challenge to track your progress on becoming a healthy you by completing the weekly goal setting tasks.  Use this link to go to the online Challenge.

Login to an existing account:

  1. Log in using your registered email and password.
  2. Once you have logged in to your account, you will be directed to the Challenge dashboard. From the dashboard, you should click on the “Building Healthy Habits with Canada’s Food Guide” Challenge to join. Don’t forget to hit the JOIN button.
  3. Once you have joined, you will be able to log in daily or weekly to the “Building Healthy Habits with Canada’s Food Guide” Challenge to track your progress on becoming a healthy you by completing the Challenge Milestones.  Use this link to go to the online Challenge.

There shall be the following prizes available:

Two prizes for the completion of week 1 challenge tasks. Each prize consists of a $25 grocery store gift card as well as Nourish, a cookbook by Nettie Cronish and Cara Rosenbloom.


Two prizes for the completion of week 2 challenge tasks. Each prize consists of a $25 grocery store gift card as well as Nourish, a cookbook by Nettie Cronish and Cara Rosenbloom.


Two prizes for the completion of week 3 challenge tasks. Each prize consists of a $25 grocery store gift card as well as Nourish, a cookbook by Nettie Cronish and Cara Rosenbloom.


Two prizes for the completion of week 4 challenge tasks. Each prize consists of a $25 grocery store gift card as well as Nourish, a cookbook by Nettie Cronish and Cara Rosenbloom.


Two prizes for the completion of week 5 challenge tasks. Each prize consists of a $25 grocery store gift card as well as Nourish, a cookbook by Nettie Cronish and Cara Rosenbloom.


Two prizes for the completion of week 6 challenge tasks. Each prize consists of a $25 grocery store gift card as well as Nourish, a cookbook by Nettie Cronish and Cara Rosenbloom.


Two grand prizes for the completion of at least one weekly challenge. Each grand prize consists of a $100 grocery store gift card as well as Nourish, a cookbook by Nettie Cronish and Cara Rosenbloom.

Name of Contest: Building Healthy Habits with Canada’s Food Guide Online Challenge Survey Contest

  1. There shall be two prizes for the completion of the pre-online challenge survey. Each prize consists of a $25 grocery store gift card.
  2. There shall be two prizes for the completion of the post-online challenge survey. Each prize consists of a $25 grocery store gift card.
  3. This Contest is open to Windsor-Essex County, Ontario residents 18 years and older only.
  4. The chance (odds) of being selected as one of the two winners of the pre-online challenge survey contest is dependent on the number of contestants who complete the pre-online challenge survey and enter the random draw.
    The chance (odds) of being selected as one of the two winners of the post-online challenge survey contest is dependent on the number of contestants who complete the post-online challenge survey and enter the random draw.
  5. Before claiming any prize, winners will be required to correctly answer a skill-testing question administered by the WECHU.

Name of Contest: Building Healthy Habits with Canada’s Food Guide Online Challenge Contest

  1. This Contest is open to Windsor-Essex County, Ontario residents 18 years and older only.
  2. Contestants are eligible to win one weekly prize and one grand prize. Should a contestant win both a weekly prize and a grand prize, an alternate cookbook will be given for the final prize (Lighthearted at Home, a cookbook by Anne Lindsay).
  3. The chance (odds) of being selected as the weekly prize winners is dependent on the number of contestants who complete the weekly tasks and enter the random draw.
    One entry for the grand prize random draw will be given each time a contestant completes the weekly challenge task. The chance (odds) of being selected as the grand prize winner is dependent on total participation rates of all contestants.
  4. Before claiming any prize, winners will be required to correctly answer a skill-testing question administered by the WECHU.
