The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has distributed a voluntary survey to all local council and mayoral candidates running in the upcoming 2018 municipal election.

The survey provides an opportunity for candidates to share their views on local health issues, including equity, food insecurity, dental health, mental illness, substance misuse, built environment, and climate change.

The municipal government and elected councillors can shape the health of our community through the design and delivery of policies, programs, and services. During the 2018 municipal election, residents can Vote for Health by encouraging action on important public health issues to reduce preventable illness and death, and improve overall health in Windsor and Essex County.

Survey results will be posted on the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit’s website in late September.
