Last chance to share your thoughts and experiences with us around the food system!
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, along with the Windsor-Essex Food Policy Council are reminding community members that there is one week left to complete the on–line food system survey. Have your say and get a chance to win a $100 grocery store gift card. The survey can be found at www.wechu.org/Foodsystem, and is open at all residents over 18. For a paper copy of the survey, call 519-258-2146 Ext. 3200 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
“Our goal is to use this information to support a broader Community Food Assessment, so we can learn where the strengths and gaps in our food system are. From there we can work with our partners to create plans to build on the strengths and resolve the issues,” says Karen Bellemore, Public Health Nutritionist and Chair of the Food Policy Council. A food system consists of those who: grow or raise food; process food; distribute food; sell or provide food; eat food and manage food waste.
This project is proudly supported by the WindsorEssex Community Foundation and Loblaw Companies Limited through their partnership with Community Foundations of Canada.
