News Release: April 6th Public Health Evening Updates Related to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In an effort to bring timely information to the residents of Windsor-Essex, the WECHU is issuing a second release for April 6th.
The WECHU is saddened to report two deaths related to COVID-19, bringing our total number of residents who have passed away due to COVID-19 to five. A female in her seventies and a male in his eighties have passed away due to complications from COVID-19. Out of respect for the families of these individuals no further details will be shared at this time.
“I send my regrets and condolences to the families of both of these individuals during this very difficult time. This is sad news for our community to lose two more residents in such a tragic way,” Says Dr. Wajid Ahmed, Medical Officer of Health

To protect yourself against COVID-19:
- Wash your hands with soap and water (at least 20 seconds) regularly and often
- Cough or sneeze into a tissue and dispose of the tissue and wash your hands
- Keep surfaces clean and disinfected
- Stay home when you are sick
- Keep 2 metre physical distance between yourself and others
