What can I expect? Before you come to the Sexual Health Clinic please phone to make an appointment. When you call, you will speak to a nurse who will complete a short assessment with you in order to make sure your needs are met.
When you come for your appointment, the clerk will ask you write your name on a piece of paper in order to give you a number. This ensures complete confidentiality.
Once your number is called you will speak with a registered nurse. The nurse will do an assessment, including taking your health history and discussing the reason for your visit. Once your needs have been determined the nurse will explain to you the next steps. These may include seeing the clinic doctor or making a follow-up appointment with the nurse. Doctor clinics are Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Although people who come to the clinic without an appointment will be seen, if you do walk-in please anticipate the likelihood of a lengthy waiting time. Walk-ins will be seen by a nurse and assessed. You may have to book a follow-up appointment.
