Family Health Department Manager

Reporting to the Director of Health Promotion, the incumbent will be responsible for the management of the requirements and outcomes of the Reproductive and Child Health component of the Ontario Public Health Standards (2008). The successful candidate will have a clear vision of health promotion within a public health framework, strong human resource management skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Position Responsibilities 

    • Strategic and operational management of requirements of the Reproductive and Child Health Standards including oral health programs. 
    • Representation of the Health Unit in the community regarding child health issues from birth to school entrance years including oral health. 
    • Participation on internal committees. 

  
Qualifications
 
The position requires a minimum of five years experience in public health and a BScN degree and registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Previous management experience and a Masters degree in a related field are recommended. Experience in family health and maternal/child health issues, as well as implementing population based health promotion strategies is an essential prerequisite for this position.
